Ibrahim, licensed Moroccan mountain guide, trekking on snowshoes in the winter High Atlas

Meet the lead guide

I'm Ibrahim — lead guide at Azizi Family Treks

I've spent the last eight years and more walking people through the High Atlas, up Mount Toubkal, and out into the dunes at Merzouga. These mountains aren't a job I found — they're where I grew up, and the valleys, passes and villages on my itineraries are places I know by name and by family.

Azizi Family Treks is a family-run business, and I am the main guide leading our journeys. I hold an official Moroccan mountain guide licence and personally guide each trip. I speak English, French and Arabic, so nothing gets lost between you, the guesthouse owner and the muleteer.

My trips fall into two shapes that often overlap: physical mountain trekking, and cultural immersion through Berber village life and the desert. The homestays, kitchens, women's argan cooperatives and family guesthouses in my programs are the people I know personally — sharing them properly is my actual specialty, not a line on a brochure.

Groups stay small and private by default, pacing is set by you, and I'm reachable 24/7 for the whole time you're on the trail.
